The Zuiderpershuis is a hydraulic powerhouse and arts center. It has been making history in Antwerp since 1883.

It is the festival hub during the Youth Film Festival, with the XL Medialab, the toddler cinema, the workshops and the child-friendly festival café.

Wheelchair users

This venue is mostly accessible to wheelchair users.

Workshops take place on the first floor and there is no lift available.

There are the following facilities:

  • A wheelchair accessible toilet
  • Ramp for risers
  • Adapted toilet, set-up space is 100 cm

Directions

Bike

  • The nearest velostations are Vismijn (074), M HKA (034), Sint-Michielskaai (071) and Cockerillkaai (035).
  • Bicycle parking is provided at the festival site.

Public transport

  • From Antwerp-Central station take premetro 3 / 5 / 9 / 15 towards Groenplaats. There, change to tram 4 towards Hoboken and get off at the Tropical Institute stop. From there it's a 10-minute walk.
  • From Antwerp-Berchem station get on bus 22 towards Zuid and get off at the Tropical Institute stop.
  • Passing Antwerp-Zuid station, both tram 4 and buses 180-183 go in the direction of the city centre and get off at the Museum (KMSKA) stop.

Parking

You can easily park at Q-park Steendok (about 550m from the Zuiderpershuis). More info on rates and availability can be found on the website of Q-park.

You can no longer park for free on the Gedempte Zuiderdokken in front of the Zuiderpershuis. For up-to-date information on the road works, go to Slim naar Antwerpen. Also note whether your car is allowed to enter the Antwerp LEZ zone.
