Moreover, every year during Youth Film Festival Antwerp a part of the festival program is put online. This way, children can enjoy a unique festival experience from the hospital, rehabilitation center or even at home, and even receive a prize.
Also available throughout the year are even more unique short and feature-length films. Each film features additional online activities. Children can post their opinions about the films and give the films stars. Through the online media lab they can discover the latest apps and games tailored to their needs and learn to experiment with film themselves. In this way, children can share their own stories and creativity from their hospital beds.
Film in hospital is a project of JEF in collaboration with the Croatian Kids meet Art, the Swedish BUFF International Children and Young People's Festival, the Italian Il Nuovo Fantarca, the Catalan Packmagic, the Slovenian Kinodvor, the German Schlingel Internationales Filmfestival, the Greek Neaniko Plano, Bednet, AZ Oudenaarde, Sint-Franciscusziekenhuis, AZ Maria-middelares, AZ Sint-Jan Brugge-Oost, AZ Groeninge, Sint-Andriesziekenhuis, AZ Sint-Lucas Brugge, Sint-Trudo Ziekenhuis, OLVZ Aalst, UZA, GZA Sint-Augustinus, Pulderbos - Revalidatiecentrum voor kinderen en jongeren, UZ Leuven en UZ Gent - children's hospital Prinses Elisabeth and AZ Jan Palfijn.
