A boat in the garden

In the early 1950s, 11-year-old François' parents built a boat in their garden in France. It is a replica of Joshua Slocum's famous sailboat, in which he became the first person to sail solo around the world. As François begins helping with the project, he discovers he has quite a lot in common with his reserved stepfather. And so he begins his own poetic voyage between childhood and adulthood. A journey that leads him to his personal passions: the sea and drawing.
